Park Safety Light

History

In our many years in the transport industry we have seen a lot of changes. Technical developments have been conducted in the vehicles at a fast pace. There has been a constant increase in traffic, changes in legislation and regulations concerning safety. Partially due to these developments there have been more and improved lightning.

We were asked to equip trucks and vehicles in such a way that both the side of the vehicle as the immediate surrounding are properly lit. Therefore is parking, manoeuvring and shunting safer.

Because of our R&D we created the “Park Safety Light”.

Once the lamp is switched on, it automatically moves outward and places itself next to the vehicle. As a result, the whole side of the vehicle and its direct surroundings are perfectly lit without any shadows. The driver’s view is completely free which creates security for the driver to get the vehicle in the desired position.

Once you have one on your vehicle, you cannot continue without a Park Safety Light.

Moveable side lightning

The purpose of this feature is to light the vehicle and surface when reversing, manoeuvring and parking. When a vehicle first leaves a factory, it only comes with reserving lights to light just a small area behind the vehicles. The areas left and right from the vehicle remain unlit and especially in dimly lit areas can this be a real threat to humans, animals, the environment and materials.

Since we are involved in transporting hazardous materials, the risk is even bigger. We started looking for a practical solution for the implementation of moveable side lightning. Several designs were not practical and/or feasible because of complexity, size or unhandy controls.

Realization

A double cylinder is air-operated and is controlled by an electric valve. Because of the construction of this cylinder the lamp is fixed on the bracket and therefore not able to turn away. The double rods give stability to the construction. During traffic the lamp is slided in which also protects the rods against influences of weather. When the light is switched on, air pressure makes the rods come out. The speed of this can be adjusted and the action will automatically stop when an obstacle is sensed. electrical signal is used for both the lamp as well as for the operation of the air valve.

Because of its compact design, the cylinder is easy to assemble. The lamp can also be placed on the tracting material since air pressure is already present. The electric valve can be mounted at any location. Using two synthetic tubes, air is sent to the cylinder. At the moment, no practical and well working side lightning is available on the market. However, our solution will make this possible.
